ADDISON MIZNER
The Visionary Behind Boca Raton
Addison Mizner (1872–1933) was more than an architect—he was a visionary who redefined the aesthetic of South Florida. Known for introducing Mediterranean Revival architecture to the region, his work transformed Palm Beach and Boca Raton into enclaves of grand, old-world elegance.

Raised in California and widely traveled, Mizner drew inspiration from Spanish, Venetian, and Moorish design, blending them into a distinctive style that remains influential today. His projects set new standards for upscale living.

In 1925, he established the Addison as his administration building, using it as both an office and an exclusive dining space to host investors. Though his ambitious plans for Boca Raton were cut short, his architectural legacy continues to define the city's character.

Mizner’s influence extends beyond his buildings—his vision shaped the very identity of South Florida, leaving behind a timeless legacy that continues to inspire.
